Ben Affleck shares Thanksgiving meals with ex Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner reunited Thursday to help serve Thanksgiving meals to those in need.

The former couple was joined by fellow actors Sarah Paulson and Amanda Peet as they handed out food and volunteered at the Midnight Mission shelter in downtown Los Angeles.

Photos and videos from the day were shared by several accounts on Instagram. This included the shelter’s account thanking Affleck and Garner for all their hard work when it uploaded a photo of the two actors next to The Midnight Mission CEO David Prentice.

“Today we were honored to have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner join us on The Midnight Mission for Thanksgiving! Their kindness, warmth and dedication brought so much joy to our Skid Row community,” the caption read.

“Thank you, Ben and Jennifer, for serving the meals and sharing the smiles on this special day. Your compassion reminds us all of the true meaning of Thanksgiving: coming together to support each other.”

Newsweek emailed spokespersons for Affleck and Garner outside normal business hours on Friday for comment.

A fan account for Paulson also shared images from the day, including a photo of her standing with Affleck and Garner. Two videos were also uploaded, one of Paulson and Peet getting ready to hand out food and the other of Affleck, Garner and Paulson taking a photo together.

“Sarah Paulson spent Thanksgiving GIVING! Along with Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck and her best friend Amanda Peet! They volunteered earlier today and served free meals to the unhoused community in LA, organized by The Midnight Mission,” reads the caption.

Affleck and Garner were joined by their children for the occasion.

This is Affleck’s first Thanksgiving since Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce in August, on their second wedding anniversary.

The 13 Goes through 30 actor and the Goodwill hunting star were married from 2005 to 2015, the year they announced their divorce. They finalized their divorce three years later.

The former couple have three children: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Violet made headlines in July after she gave an impassioned speech at a regularly scheduled meeting of the LA County Board of Supervisors. During the rare public appearance, Violet spoke about the importance of mask availability, among other methods of maintaining public safety amid COVID-19.

In photos obtained by Page six and posted on September 27, Affleck and Fin were spotted outside a Spirit Halloween store in Los Angeles ahead of Halloween.

On November 10, Affleck and Samuel grabbed courtside seats at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to watch the Lakers defeat the Toronto Raptors 123-103. This was a rare public sighting for the father-son duo.

Over the years, Affleck and Garner have tried to keep their children out of the spotlight, especially the paparazzi. In 2013, Garner joined a group of celebrity parents led by Halle Berry to support legislation banning paparazzi images of children taken without consent.

Appears on Good morning America in December 2021, Affleck stated that his children’s opinion of him is the only one that matters.

“I will be long dead and someone will ask my children, ‘What was your father like?’ and then I will know what my life was worth,” he explained.
