Renaissance Festival 2024 opens on November 2 in Hammond

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) – You are all invited to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival as it returns to Hammond.

During the weekends between November and December, gentlemen and ladies can head into the woods to immerse themselves in a recreation of the Renaissance.

The festival takes place every autumn in the English village of Albright, with more than 600 craftsmen, entertainers and demonstrations providing a fun 16th century experience.

Part of the experience are the themes for each weekend:

  • Saturday November 2 and Sunday November 3 — Romance and masquerade

  • Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 — Viking

  • Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17 — Celtic

  • Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 — Myths and magic

  • Sunday November 29, Monday November 30 and Monday December 1 — Pirate

  • Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8 — Fireworks finale

Queen Elizabeth stopped by the WGNO studio to announce all the activities they could participate in.

“As well as many of our favorite returning animations, we also have a whole host of new things to enjoy on each of our stages,” said Her Majesty. “We have turkey legs, we have Jamaican food this year, we have roasted flavored nuts and all kinds of things to enjoy.”

The gates open at the first cannon blast at 9:45 AM and close at 5:00 PM

Tickets can be purchased on the Louisiana Renaissance Festival website.

WGNO will be in the Village of Albright showcasing the sights, sounds, tastes and fun.
