Bankroll Freddie sentenced to prison on drug trafficking and gun charges

Arkansas rapper Bankroll Freddie, also known as Freddie Gladney III, has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

Gladney, who was found guilty earlier this year following a 2022 federal gun and drug bust, was arrested along with 34 members of the Every Body Killas (EBK) gang. His father, Freddie Gladney Jr., was also among the gang members arrested, THV11 reported.

Gladney III is found guilty of possession and distribution of marijuana, as well as possession and distribution of a controlled substance, possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking and use of “a communications facility” for drug trafficking crimes. The ruling came from the U.S. District Court for Eastern District Arkansas. Officials also arrested members of the Loady Murder Mobb gang, saying the groups “voluntarily and intentionally conspired” to distribute drugs.

In addition to 12 years in prison, Gladney was sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay a $242,000 fine, KARK reported.

Gladney got into trouble when he was stopped for speeding in 2022. Police ordered the rapper out of the car at that point, saying they smelled marijuana. After searching the car, police said they found troopers who said they found multiple firearms, including a privately made weapon known as a “ghost gun.” Troopers added that they found a duffel bag containing 21.4 pounds of high-grade marijuana and $33,662, as well as seven ammunition magazines.

Judge James M. Moody, Jr. said Gladney’s sentence included an additional 2.5 years for possessing the ghost gun. The court also issued a four-level enhancement, which is a higher offense level, after finding that Gladney was an organizer or leader of a criminal activity involving five or more participants.

The 30-year-old rapper signed with Quality Control in 2019 and released his debut album, From stairs to rapin 2020, according to Baller Alert. The album featured Moneybagg Yo, Young Dolph and Lil Baby. He also released his popular song “Pop It” in 2021, featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
