Two dead, six injured in shooting on Halloween night in Orlando

Two people were killed and six others were injured in a shooting on Halloween night in downtown Orlando, Florida, police said.

The suspect, 17-year-old Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, was taken into custody, Orlando police said.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired just after 1 a.m. Friday and within minutes officers witnessed a second shooting, police said.

One person was killed at the first scene and the second victim was killed at the second scene, police said.

Surveillance footage captured the chaos of people fleeing the scene as officers apprehended the suspect.

The six surviving victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition. the police said. The victims’ ages range from 19 to 39, police said.
