Slovakia is interested in gas supplies from Azerbaijan

Slovakia is actively working to diversify its gas supply by exploring the possibility of importing gas from Azerbaijan, a source from the Slovak Ministry of Economy told Report.

“Negotiations with Azerbaijani officials, including talks on expanding gas production and exports to Europe, demonstrate Slovakia’s commitment to securing new energy sources,” the source said.

It also noted that Slovakia’s gas storage facilities are currently full and the country is connected to the gas systems of all neighboring states, allowing alternative gas supply routes, reducing Bratislava’s dependence on Russian gas supplied through Ukraine.
