Sheetz Opens New Metro Detroit Store: What You Need to Know

FRASER, MI – Sheetz, a popular restaurant and gas station chain in the Mid-Atlantic region, has announced plans to open a new store in metro Detroit.

The new store will open at the southwest corner of 14 Mile and Utica roads in Fraser. The announcement comes after Fraser City Council approved the plan.

“We are grateful for the lively and passionate dialogue at last night’s meeting and for the opportunity to work with local officials and residents to show that we belong in their communities,” said Justin Mandel, regional director of real estate for Sheetz. “We look forward to supporting Fraser through meaningful job creation, food bank donations, partnerships with local organizations and more.”

Officials have not said exactly when the Fraser store will open, but the announcement comes as the chain plans to open between 50 and 60 stores in the Detroit area within the next five to six years.

The Pennsylvania-based company recently announced that new stores will open at 31925 Van Dyke in Warren, 19001 E. Nine Mile in Eastpointe and 2103 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti.

Additional stores are expected to open in Chesterfield, Macomb, Warren and two locations in Taylor.

The company has not announced an exact opening date for any of the planned stores.

Michigan’s first Sheetz opened in August in Romulus at 33380 Wick Rd.

Sheetz is best known for its award-winning, made-to-order menu, which allows locals, or “Sheetz Freakz,” to order custom drinks or food from Sheetz 24 hours a day.

Sheetz operates 669 retail locations in six states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. All Sheetz locations are open 24/7, 365 days a year.
